3 to 5 years old

Great care is taken when planning the children's activities; both free time and structured to develop opportunities through play and learning inside and outside.

We aim to develop their physical, intellectual and emotional skills, concentrating on language and mathematical thinking, imagination and creativity. This is done through reading, singing, counting and rhyming games, listening and responding to examples of communication, listening to and making music, role-play and acting out stories, dancing painting and drawing.

For our older children we have a company called 'fit & Fun', who visit the nursery weekly, covering all ranges of sports and the equipment used, giving them a chance to experience the activities first hand. 'YoGums', a company specialising in yoga for young children also visit us each week, helping to develop their imagination, whilst stretching and developing their physical skills and teaching them to relax and be calm.

We also provide and opportunity for your child to begin learning the French language through 'Petit Poucet', who visit the nursery weekly.

As carers for your children we shalland provide an interesting and simulating balance of activities, allowing for both active play and relaxation.

The nursery nurses follow the current curriculum set out by OFSTED and will work within the early learning goals. All staff are encouraged to take part in training courses to ensure that we have the latest ideas and teaching methods. As well as this we try to develop early reading and writing skills, let them explore spiritual and multi-cultural experiences, all in preparation for life at school.
